The AI solution is being introduced to assist with accuracy and reporting efficiencies in CT brain examinations across Australia
Sydney, Australia, 18th September — Annalise.ai’s radiology decision-support AI solution, Annalise Enterprise CTB, is designed to help radiologists and clinicians detect up to 130 findings on non-contrast CT Brain (CTB) scans and will be used across 120 sites nationwide following Sonic Healthcare’s decision to implement the technology in centres across Australia.
The Annalise Enterprise CTB solution is an assistive clinical tool, empowering radiologists with a ‘second pair of eyes’ to make accurate and fast decisions. Trained on one of the world’s largest radiologist hand annotated datasets of non-contrast CT brain studies1 , the AI algorithm can identify up to 130 radiological findings, including a wide range of conditions that require time-sensitive interventions.
The solution accelerates clinical workflows, improving accuracy by over 32% and efficiency by approximately 11%, as proven in previous study 1. Certain findings identified by the device are highlighted in a separate viewing window, and a scroll bar is designed to quickly identify and assess AI results within the imaging series. The solution aids clinicians in interpreting results confidently. Annalise Enterprise CTB will now be available at Sonic Healthcare clinics across Australia, including Castlereagh Imaging, SKG Radiology, Hunter Imaging, Illawarra Radiology Group, Canberra Imaging Group, Epworth Medical Imaging, Radiology Victoria, and Queensland X-ray, following an initial pilot at Queensland X-ray.
The implementation of the technology continues Sonic Healthcare’s adoption of the Annalise Enterprise solutions. In 2021, Sonic Healthcare introduced the Australian health tech company’s Annalise Enterprise CXR solution for chest X-rays.
Sonic Healthcare Australia – Radiology (‘Sonic Radiology’) is the second-largest radiology provider in Australia, with more than 120 radiology centres across Queensland, New South Wales, ACT, Victoria and Western Australia. Their services are overseen by 300 specialist radiologists and nuclear physicians, many of whom have sub-specialty expertise.
“We first implemented in 2021, with the introduction of Annalise CXR as our preferred decision support AI provider for chest X-rays,” said Dr Julian Adler, CEO at Sonic Healthcare Australia Radiology. “Following the success of this over the past three years, we’re pleased to expand our use of the Annalise Enterprise platform to include the Annalise Enterprise CTB solution. Based on extensive market research, we’re confident that this solution leads in its category for its comprehensive capabilities, providing Sonic with the premium AI solution we’re seeking for CT brain studies.”
Dimitry Tran, Co-founder and deputy CEO at Annalise.ai said, “We are proud to continue our work with Sonic Healthcare, expanding access to our solutions across Australia to provide patients with an extra level of clinical care. Our Annalise Enterprise CTB solution is now available to over 1/3rd of all the radiologists in Australia, helping to provide accurate and faster decision making when it’s needed most.”
